The Importing module is designed let you manage your importing operations, from the time you place the purchase order to the time goods are received in your warehouse. It also gives you your landed costs and tracks your letters of credit and payments.

Purchasing - TAMS lets you track purchase orders and know their status at all times. You can see what has been ordered, who it was ordered from, how it was shipped, when it is expected to arrive, how much has been received and how much is still open.

Shipment Tracking - Shipments can be tracked at every stage from the factory, to the vessel or plane, to bonded warehouses, to delivery to you. Each time a shipment moves from one carrier or location to another, TAMS helps you track where it is and when it is expected to arrive.

Payment Scheduling - TAMS helps you forecast your cash requirements and schedule payments. With detailed shipment information, you not only know when the goods are expected to arrive but when you will have to pay for them.

Letters of Credit - With TAMS, you can relate letters of credit to purchase orders and shipments so you know what your commitments are and when they must be paid. You can see the exact status of each LC - how much has been committed, how much has been paid and how much is still open.

Landed Cost - You can compute landed costs for each shipment to obtain your exact unit cost. You can also compare the shipment costs against expected costs and see the variance by shipment.
